Refuge is seeking protection from the stress and strains of daily life. by practising buddha’s teachings, through contemplation and meditation, we can develop deeply peaceful minds. This guards us from imbalanced thoughts and actions which might bring harm to ourselves and others, the consequences of which can be far reaching. In this way we gain a real place of refuge in our heart, by relying on buddha, relying on his teachings, and relying on Sangha, our spiritual friends. This is the gateway to buddhist practice.
